Taiwanese Walsin Lihwa keeps stainless steel wire rod prices flat for Sep

Walsin Lihwa, one of the steel wire rod manufacturers in Taiwan, announced to keep its stainless steel wire rod prices on August 30th. The company ended to hike price in a row in the past three months.

Although the Chinese wire rod price was up, Taiwanese another major stainless steel mill, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), announced to drop its price for September.

Walsin decided to hold its 304 stainless steel wire rod prices flat and increase its 316L extra price by NT$1,500/ton.

Due to NT dollar kept depreciating, the cost of import raw material remained at a high price level. It should have the room to hike the stainless steel wire rod price this month. However, the company decided to unchange price in considering of low demand and better export performance from its downstream customers.
